Deborah Nyack, Solo Harpist (Harp Angel)

Internationally acclaimed harpist Deborah Nyack, the Harp Angel, is heralded as "the Stradivarius of Harpists" (New Yorker, NY). With beginnings at Carnegie Hall to London's Royal Opera House to the National Arts Center to Philadelphia's Academy of Music to concerts in Jerusalem, Washington DC, Edinburgh, the Canterbury Cathedral, The Banff Centre and other worldwide venues, Deborah has received critical reviews for her mastery of technique, her depth of expression and her extraordinary improvisational capabilities. Deborah is recognized for her unique style of beauty of musicianship, warm serene artistry and rich, warm exquisite sound.

Known as the "Harp Angel" harpist, Deborah Nyack has performed for thousands from all corners of the globe who have cherished her music and recordings. Her harp performances include the International Rotary Performance, royal command performances King Hussein, Queen Nora, Princess Diana, Queen of Norway, Canadian Prime Ministers such as PM Harper, PM Chretien, PM Clark, PM Mulroney, Presidents of Yemen, Mexico, USA and the Prime Ministers of France, Israel, and Britain and other VIP dignitaries. Deborah performances also include concerts at harp festivals in Britain, Israel, USA and Canada.

Her diverse concert performances include her harp concert tours across Great Britain, USA, Israel, & Canada, her New York recital concert debut, and her concerto debut in London, England with St. Martin's-In-The-Fields as well as her numerous versatile solo recitals, sacred concerts and presentations for children. Deborah Nyack has toured extensively with AMATA, a harp/soprano duo with the renowned English-Canadian soprano Michelle Todd. Deborah Nyack Harp Angel has shared the stage with such artists as Neil Sedaca, Lyle Lovett, Tom Jones, Cirque du Soliel, and Susan Aglukark.

Deborah Nyack Harp Angel has introduced the art of beautiful serene harp music to thousands through her concerts and her famous Chateau Lake Louise performances. Her fans include people of every walk of life, including movie stars, such as Robin Williams, Matthew Gray Grubler, Alex Baldwin, Glen Close among others. Deborah's five solo harp recordings have all become best sellers as she creates harp music that is relaxing - an avenue for stress relief. Her music has been heard on TV and radio where BBC, CBC, CTV, NBC,PBS, ABC and of course YouTube have all broadcast her music.

Deborah Nyack Harp Angel has been granted awards and debut commissions with the Canada Council of the Arts, Alberta Foundation of the Arts, Rotarian International Council, the BC Youth Foundation, and the Alberta Music Association. Deborah Nyack is on the harp faculty of the Banff Centre of the Arts Canada, is the founding director of the Banff International Harp Festival, adjudicates for The World Harp Congress and gives Master Classes around the world. Deborah is a member of the American Harp Society, Canadian Guild of Professional Harpists, the American Federation of Musicians, and the World Harp Congress.

Deborah trained with full scholarship at Eastman, New York, USA, and The Royal Academy of Music, London, England, The Julliard School, NY and The Banff Centre, Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Music cum laud, Masters of Music and an award of Outstanding Performer's Certificate. Her eminent harp professors include Eileen Malone (NY), Osian Ellis (UK), Rita Costanzi (NY), Nancy Allen (NY), Marisa Robles (UK) and Susanne MacDonald ( USA).

As resident harpist for the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, in Alberta, Canada, Deborah makes her home in the inspiring Canadian Rockies where, as she puts it:
